Welcome to the EUREQUO website

The European Registry of Quality Outcomes for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (EUREQUO) is an innovative project in the field of cataract and refractive surgery. It aims to establish a comprehensive database of ophthalmological surgery outcomes as a basis for the development of guidelines for cataract and refractive surgery.

The EUREQUO registry is achieved through the establishment of national registries for the participating countries; Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden, and United Kingdom. Ophthalmic practitioners input their surgery data, via an easy to use online system, into the national register. Users are not identifiable to other users and, therefore, the information submitted remains anonymous. Once the data is recorded, all participants can analyse their data and anonymously compare their outcomes with those of colleagues in their own regions and other countries, as well as the entire database. In this way the registry provides an ideal tool for individual, regional and country auditing and benchmarking.

EUREQUO is co-financed by the European Union, under the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers check out http://ec.europa.eu/eahc. The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) is the lead partner in the project along with National Ophthalmology Societies across Europe.
