The European Registry of Quality Outcomes for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (EUREQUO) is an innovative project in the field of cataract and refractive surgery.

EUREQUO is co-financed by the European Union, under the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers check out http://ec.europa.eu/eahc/

EUREQUO facilitates the collection and analysis of cataract and refractive surgical outcomes with the aim to develop evidence based European Quality Guidelines.

The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) is the lead partner along with the National Ophthalmology Societies across Europe.

Collection of Data from Ophthalmologists Could Be Compulsory In the Future
April, 2010. “Up to now there has not been a direct benefit having your data collected and analysed, but in the future, it may be compulsory for doctors to present their results for inspection. In the Nethertlands, your insurance premium is dependent on your outcomes and that system could be introfduced in other countries.
